Financial systems evolve over time, often shaped by growth, funding changes, or simply years of operational demands taking priority over infrastructure. This assessment gives you an objective, evidence-based read on where things actually stand today, across your ledger, your compliance and reporting readiness, and how ready your data genuinely is for automation or AI tooling. You walk away with a clear baseline, an honest account of the risks sitting in your current data, and a prioritised roadmap you can act on, whether that's with us or with your own team.
How it works
Four stages, typically completed within three weeks from kickoff.
A short kickoff call and secure data access
We start with a 30 to 45 minute call to understand your funding structure, current systems, and reporting pain points. From there, we arrange secure, read-only access to your existing financial data. This is deliberately light-touch. Most of the work happens on our side, not yours.
Your systems are assessed across five pillars
We assess Ledger and Chart of Accounts Hygiene, Compliance and Acquittal Readiness, Integration and Automation Readiness, Reporting Governance, and Data Governance and Privacy, including how ready your data actually is for automation or AI tooling. Each pillar is reviewed individually, so you can see exactly where the risk actually sits.
You receive a board-ready written report
The report sets out your readiness baseline, what's driving it, and a prioritised remediation roadmap ranked by risk and effort. It's written to be read by a board or audit committee, not just your finance team.
A walkthrough session, with no obligation attached
We present the findings directly to executive leadership and your audit or finance committee, answer questions, and set out what the next step would look like. If that's further work with Corellr, we'll say so plainly. If it's something your own team can action, we'll say that too.

Common questions
Will this disrupt our finance team's day-to-day work?
No. Beyond the initial kickoff call and arranging data access, the assessment work happens on our side. We're not asking your team to run reports or compile spreadsheets for us.
Is our data safe during this process?
We work under read-only access wherever possible, and any personally identifiable donor and participant information is handled under the same governance and privacy guardrails we build into every engagement, aligned with ACNC expectations.
Are we locked into further work with Corellr after the assessment?
No. The assessment is a standalone, fixed-fee engagement. The roadmap you receive is genuinely actionable by your own team if that's the right path. We'd like to keep working with you, but the report doesn't depend on it.
What if our data turns out to be worse than we expected?
That's a common outcome, and it's exactly why the assessment exists. Better to know clearly and early, with a prioritised plan, than to find out mid-way through an expensive system migration.
What happens after the assessment?
Once your data foundation is clean and your risks are prioritised, most organisations move in one of two directions: the Financial Infrastructure Analysis, which turns that clean foundation into working cashflow and cost models, or straight into System Design & Implementation if a platform change is what's actually needed. We'll help you work out which fits at the debrief.
